Sir Tim

I briefly met Sir Tim Berners-Lee tonight. You might know him from such inventions as the World Wide Web, which I’m guessing you’re using right now if you’re reading this text. He won The Draper Prize this year, and the exhibit at the museum was dedicated tonight following a lecture by Sir Tim himself.

He was a very nice guy, and incidentally, he uses a 17″ MacBook Pro and Safari. Coincidentally, I’ve been listening to the audiobook of A Short History of Nearly Everything and just last night TBL was mentioned. I looked it up in my “special illustrated edition” hardcover, and he’s on page 202, in the note in the margin, where Bryson mentions the web as an offshoot of work that was being done at CERN.
